Pryda is a personal-safety app for iPhone, operated by SafeSide (sole proprietor). A user installs it on their own phone, chooses a plain "cover" appearance, and adds a few trusted emergency contacts. When the user triggers an alert, Pryda sends those contacts a text and email with a link to a live map of the user's location (and, if they chose it, an automated phone call), and escalates through the list until someone acknowledges.
Pryda sends SMS only to safety contacts who have opted in themselves on the opt-in form, which the app user shares with them. Text messages are optional; contacts can choose email only. Contacts can reply STOP at any time. Message frequency varies with use — typically a few messages per month. Message and data rates may apply.
